Resin Transfer Molding (RTM)

rtm_04

RTM is the ideal process for large structural parts with low to mid range part volumes.

Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) is similar to Injection Molding; however, it typically used for larger thermoset parts.

RTM incorporates the use of fiberglass reinforcements and resins to produce medium to large structural parts with controlled thickness and desired physical properties.

The tooling investment for RTM is considered moderate and most parts can be run with composite tools. The RTM process incorporates the use of a male and female tool that provide the capability of molding in inserts, studs, and various core materials.

We have the capability of applying in-mold gelcoat coatings or limited post paint finishing. External dimensions are assured with the use of a robotic, computer-controlled water cutter.
